In this interactive, evidence-informed workshop, postdoctoral scholars will develop practical strategies for mentoring undergraduate researchers through clear, reciprocal expectations and intentional communication. Participants will examine how differences in experience, identity, power, disciplinary culture, and access to informal knowledge can shape mentoring relationships. Through realistic cases, guided reflection, and applied planning, participants will practice translating terms such as initiative, independence, professionalism, and ownership into specific and developmentally appropriate behaviors.
