In this workshop, you will be introduced to the Michigan Model of Leadership (MMOL), developed at the University of Michigan through more than half a century of research and practice. Whether or not you hold a formal leadership role, you already lead through research, mentoring, collaboration, and service. The model examines leadership behaviors and emphasizes that leadership capabilities can be learned and developed rather than viewed as fixed qualities. After exploring the MMOL and completing a self-assessment of your current leadership practices, you will be introduced to a framework for taking ownership of your ongoing development by setting goals, experimenting with new behaviors, and reflecting on feedback and results.

Workshop Goals:

– Understand the importance and power of leadership development.
– Understand the Michigan Model of Leadership (MMoL) and gain self-awareness regarding existing strengths and areas for growth through the MMoL assessment.
– Begin to strategically map your leadership journey to gain experiences to grow both your areas of strength and improvement.

Note: This workshop includes time to take the self-assessment. Refreshments will be provided
