Disability and Accessibility

The Disability Equity Office coordinates with a wide, diverse range of partners and leadership across the university to enhance universal access for people with disabilities. We view our mission as equal parts education, change, and facilitation.

U-M Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX

The Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office provides support, resources, and education to promote a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living, and working environment for all members of the university community.

IT Access After Leaving the University of Michigan

If you did not earn a degree at the University of Michigan, you will lose access to the university’s IT services as soon as you terminate your postdoc role. Learn more about IT services and leaving the university on the U-M ITS website.

Benefits

The University of Michigan extends benefits to all postdoctoral research fellows, which may include: health insurance (medical, dental, vision) for yourself and your dependent(s), vacation time and holidays, paid and unpaid leave, and child care support. More information can be found on the website of U-M Academic Human Resources for Postdoctoral Research Fellows.

Benefits Enrollment

New employees are required to enroll within 30 days of their appointment start date. After enrolling, changes in benefit selections may only be made during the annual open enrollment period in the fall or following major life events such as the birth or adoption of a child or marriage.

Enrollment in or changes made to the supplemental retirement account may be done at any time during the year. To select benefits and enroll, follow the simple step-by-step online process located in the Employee Self Service tool in Wolverine Access.
